Occupational Therapy

Daily living skills, sensory supports, routines, fine motor skills, and home/school strategies.

Occupational therapy supports people to participate more independently and comfortably in everyday activities by building practical daily living skills. This may include self-care tasks (dressing, toileting, eating), organisation and planning, play and learning skills, and developing fine motor control for tasks like handwriting, cutting, using utensils, or managing fasteners.

OT can also provide sensory supports and routine-based strategies to improve regulation, attention, and engagement across the day. Recommendations are often designed to work consistently across environments—such as home and school—through simple adjustments, visual supports, task breakdowns, and environmental changes that reduce barriers and help the person feel more successful in daily routines.
